Crop Gathering

It's that time of year again to gather crops. It rained for two days and when it was done, I went out on the patio and a bird was sitting on a nest on the shade. Hope she sticks with it. We put in a fence last year and seeded with grass. It's all happy. Lucy is helping me put in the garden. The dirt area will be all corn soon. I'm in my element. Mike and I went to the zoo last week so I could renew my zoo membership. Tonight we have dinner with the kids. Love Tuesdays. Time to take a break and mail off Moms day stuff.

Genealogy

Today I spent 4 hrs on Mikes genealogy. I have him in the computer back to 1544. It's hard to stop once I get going. Oops. Time for dinner

I had the best ever Birthday. I love to party! Ian & Melissa, Joel, Leon, and Mike all went in together and got me an AmazonKindle. I love it! Thanks! I have already read the first two book in the Twilight series and I'm on the third. Books download in 15 sec! I take it every place I go. It fits in my purse. We had a taco party and yummy pie. Travis stayed and we talked until 7am. Mike left for work before I went to bed. (I'm young again!) Lucy had her first puppy class on Saturday. We are clicker training which is new to me. I don't think I like it but it's supposed to work so I will hang in there. She got out the front door today for the second time but she comes to me when I call so that's an improvement. Mike went with me to class and chickened out at the last minute.
Today is a beautiful day so Mike and I went for a drive and got to spend some time together. We get to see the kids tonight and watch the biggest looser. yea!!!! I am going into a therapy class to get the Wonder Pets song out of my head. This week we are trying waterboarding. Hope it works.

Mike spent the better part of 3 weeks out of town. I picked him up from the airport last night. yeehaa. So of course it snowed like it does everytime he comes home! His dads funeral was Saturday morning. Leon took such good care of him. Leon took him for some serious grief therapy.....DLand! They had a great time. It's good to have him home.

Mike is back from Texas and it's a beautiful day. Dead of winter and the tulips are coming up. It's 70 degrees. But just wait, there's still plenty of time for snow. Got my church work done, had a nice lunch, walked the dog, and visited with the neighbor. They have their house up for sale. Hey Diane, you need to move next door! Mike is going to sit at my computer and catch up on Burn Notice and I'm going down to the theature room and catch up on 24. Tomorrow I prep the garden. And see the kids yeeeehaaa. I'm blessed.

I did it!

I crashed my lab top the other day downloading updates. I got the gray screen of death and a stuck cd. So I made an appointment with the Apple Bar. Then it dawned on me at 12mn...I can do this! I got out the big thick manual that I bought and swore I would read, and figured it out. Not only did I reinstall everything but I figured out how to get back on the net! And then at 2am I went to bed!

Richard

Mike is back from Needles. It was so nice that he got to spend the week with his dad. His sister came up from Los Angeles to be there too. Richard decided that he wanted to die at home after learning that he has lung cancer. It is very aggressive and covers most of the right lung. Mike saw him home with the family. He has a hospice nurse that comes in once a day and some CNAs to help with his care. He is awake and sitting up and eatting and planning his future.... Leon was there too and got to be with his dad for the week. We talk to Richard everyday because it can be anyday now. I'v known him for 37 years. I will miss him.

Richard

So..Mike got off the plane in Vegas last night and he and Leon headed right for the in-n-out and then to Needles. I could taste it from here. He's dad was sleeping so they went on to the house for the night and saw Richard today. He is very sick, on BP medication via IV that, if taken off, he would die within an hour. Mike will be there until Friday. He took over the bedside nursing care. I'm so glad he can be there with his dad. He didn't grow up with him in the house. Hold you loved ones tight. Make wonderful memories to last.

Prayer

God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones that I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Crazy day

Got up today to go to Church. Went to the airport instead. Mike's dad is in the hospital. No code. Life moves too fast. Leon is meeting him in Vegas and they will drive into Needles. Where life is slow. I'm here with Lucy. Thought I lost her today. Could'nt find her. She was in the garage. So what do you do when you are waiting for word from the deep desert? You clean house and have Dairy Queen of course.
